The vessel is a
spiritual image long associated with the
holding or containing of something
precious. A chalice or cup holds a sacred
or magical substance. A jar may store
nourishment, a healing potion, or a
scroll upon which is written words of
wisdom. The human heart is a vessel that
holds love for children, a beloved, the
sacred. A vessel as boat/ship/raft is a
metaphor for the journey of life or
toward some great truth. My Truth
includes the fact that I am a woman and
all that that implies: a vessel for new
lives brought into being, nurtured and
taught. The feelings contained in my body
are poured out to become the works you
experience and share with me in this
collection.
